Hours ago, the glorious and mesmerizing Taal volcano erupted, spewing ashes that reached the neighboring cities of Batangas, which is at the island of Luzon in the Philippines. As it happens, calls for evacuation have been made. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHlVOLCS) raised the alert level status of Taal to Level 4, which indicates a high level of volcanic unrest. Taal is now just a level away from hazardous eruption, which may happen within hours to days.
Cities near and even further away from Batangas city have canceled classes for tomorrow due to the ashfall. The Department Of Health also issued a health advisory to keep everyone aware and cautious.
Please be mindful and follow the precautionary measures, as pictured above. Stay indoors if your area has no evacuation warnings. Volcanic gases and ashes contain hazardous elements. If you are asked to evacuate, do so.
